I have been considering buying a Ugly Dog vest, but not sure which one is better. Stuck Between the Guardian, Guardian Kevlar, and the Devestator.

For those of you have been using one of these for a while , what are yalls opinions on them?

Here is a thread that was discussing vest color, but it also relates to my experience with the Devastator vest.
For what its worth, I own three of them.

Thanks Chris, i remember reading this one when you first posted it.

Have you ever ran a Guardian Vest?

I guess what im trying to figure out is what the differences are in the two as far as quality and how the dogs are able to move  in them.

Clay uses a Guardian.   He is pleased with his vest.   I am pleased with my vest.  His offers protection in a few places that mine does not, but mine is a bit less restrictive.  I don't think you can go wrong with either one.  I think today, if we both walked in to Ugly Dog with $200.00 bucks in our pockets, I would come out with another Devastator and Clay would come out with another Guardian Wink

Trenton, I have the Guardian Titan with four layers of kevlar in it. Haven't had any cuts throught it, but it's too hot IMO for summer time use. I have an old Uglydog, single layer kevlar vest custom made several years back that is light weight and works well in the heat.

If I was to buy a new one today, it would be a Devastator for year round use.

Thanks Mike, i think im gonna go with the devestator. May see if anyone has a good used one first. My wife doesnt like the idea of me spending 200 bucks on a vest for " one of those stupid dogs" .    If it will keep him safe, it will be worth more than that.

I have used the devastator and gaurdian kevlar both.  I haven't had any bad cuts through either, although i had one tiny insignificant poke that went through the gaurdian Kevlar (not counting leg flaps) but just barely.  I got the gaurdian because my pit kept getting cut under his jaw, and it worked great.  I think I prefer the devastator because of the light weight and flexibility, but I wouldn't hesitate to use either.  one note, If I was going to buy a new devastator I'd try it on or get it custom made and make sure it fits OVER whatever cut collar you want to use.  Others might have different opinions, but that's what I've had the best luck with on my short necked pits.

They all get cut thru eventually.  I would find the one that fits your dog best and role with it.  I have two guardian kevlar vest and both have been cut thru several times.  One has two layers of kevlar and the other has three layers.  The three layer vest is the newest but has a lot more cut thru's.....go figure.  I've never run a devastator, but know people do and they have had pass thrus on them as well.  Nothing is 100%.
