Sean, Matt and I made a round this morning on a "training" hunt for my Reeses dog. She's a niece to my Blue dog and comes from James Browning ... also her sire comes from Tx Mason's stock.

We got into a group of hogs and her and Cheyenne caught one and Blue and Smiley caught another one. Blue and Sammy rolled out and ened up with one more about 3/4 of a mile away. Three shoats for the day and some good exposure for the young dog.

Looks like a good haul fellas.  I'm guessin blue is the dog with the glass eye, he is a good lookin dog.  Are yall huntin a right of way for power lines?  read a post a few days ago and the guys were talking about tracking collars picking up to much "city noise"  how close are you to any city limits in these pictures,  just wondering how far you have to go to get on some hogs up around houston.  once again good looking run

Good time again bros.  I was also impressed with Reeses and all the dogs for still having enough gas to catch these hogs after they had hunted hard for nearly 6 hours.
Mike you need to post a pic of your shed antler you found, thought it was weird that deer were already shedding, there was no mistaking this antler had just been dropped.

Here's a pic of some of the stuff we had to crawl through today. Places like this are why Mike swears by his Quick Track. These power lines can throw off a lot of interference on a tracking system, and we've been able to track to dogs a few miles away with it, even around these.

Mike,
Glad to see an out cross doing well.  I knew the cross with Browning would work.
Hope she gets in more pictures.

Thanks fella's, I was real proud of her too. She's only bayed a hog in a pen twice and I waited till she had some age on her to start her in the woods. Several old timers out here say they won't put a dog in the woods till they're at least a year old... looks like they may be on to something.

Thanks, that is my old Blue dog.

This place is acually about 15 minutes from downtown Houston. The entire Houston area is covered in hogs...subdivisions, golf courses, airports, parks, etc. This property has two power line right of ways and is in the direct line of planes landing at the big airport. It will really put a tracking system to the test.

It feels funny driving an hour into town to hunt these "city hogs"... but there sure are a bunch of them!
