Went hunting with a friend of mine a couple nights ago. On the way to the hunting grounds he was telling me how a BMC (Doc) was getting gritty the last couple hunts. When we arrived and started to get the dogs setup I noticed that he did not put a cut collar on that dog. I put a tracking collar on him and he said turn him lose. Well, we were on a pack of hogs in about 30 min. It was not long a the yealp of a dog echoed threw the woods. Everytime we would start to get close the would break. Then they split and we had 2 bays going. Again, the yealp. We also noticed only one bay again. It took a while to get to the bay, but we finally got to it and released the CD. It was a 150 lbs. boar. All three of the baydogs were on with that hog. Not sure how that happened but was happy it did. Once we took care of the boar we checked out the dogs and noticed that he had a couple cut. It was dark, raining, and cold so we headed to the truck. Once we got home we notice Doc had been cut bad on the sholder. but had a total of 7 cuts total. Took care of the dog and started cleaning my equpiment. Noticed that the DC-30 had a direct hit and had a gash in the plastic. It is about 1/2 an inch long. 1/16 in deep in the plastic. That collar saved his life. Payed for itself in more then one way.

Needles to say, he ordered a bay vest the next day as well as a new cut collar. I did learn one thing, always protect your dogs. They give you all they got, you should do the same for them.

Chelsee is coming along well. She is not sure if she wants to be a Bay dog or a RCD. Letting her find her own way at the moment. Karie is making al my dog FAT looks like they have been at the Wille Wanka factory.
