I am no expert, but I have raised a few litters over the years. What works for us is simply filling the feed bowl 2/3 full with feed and topping the bowl with water. This gives the pups a gravy like substance that the pups will like the taste of and get them interested in the flavor of the dog food. This will also soften up the dog food and in no time they will be eating up the dry food. Hope this helps....

Go to tractor supply and get some lamb or goats milk powder it is about 30 % fat mix up a warm broth of it and let it soak up in the food and he will eat it and he will put on the weight

When I have pups I start them at three weeks on the can food . After a week I start mixing in the dry and gradually stop with the can food . Seems to work for me, never seen a pup that would not eat the can food.
