I've got a male pit that I've had for a few months and just had him running loose but some stuff happened between him and the neighbors dog so I had to put him on a chain and he's been on it for about a month now and I've started noticing that he has started chewing on the end of his tail and has started to make it bleed. So my question is what could be causing him to chew on it and what can I do to make him stop?

He is probably bored or somethings wrong and it itches, if there is nothing wrong with is try tying something in a tree real close to him so he can jump up and grab it and pull on it, we did that with our pit and he had a blast lol and stopped chewing too

Give him something else to do. For a bored dog, a wagging tail is a pretty inviting chew toy.
