Went out today to a place we haven't been in awile to see if we could stir anything up, Lucy and Michaels redbone pup Ruby, opened up right off when we got into the woods, Rocky takes off and does his normal "chase something for an hr"..  ... we could smell a musty odor, figuring there was a nice boar around from the smell and the tracks we saw, we kept sending Jasmine into a thicket to see if she could scare it up. About 45 minutes later after finding Rocky, Lucy opened up again, and I cut Buddy loose, this time we came up on a pretty good sized group, I saw a bunch of shoats running off, heard squealing (I was thinkin, crap, shoat..  ) Michael and Daniel got there before me and I heard them say.."its big" (I kinda thought they was jokin) ended up with this boar, nice size, we figured 230-260, he cut the bulldogs some, but not bad, all other dogs was fine. Not sure if it's the one we got on right off. We also ended up with a couple more, a shoat and a nice meat hog. Called it a day and stapled up bulldogs and headed home.    |

Jeff, after a hunt like that there is never a problem sleeping. You missed out today. We were due for a big hog and we kept saying that and today it happened. After almost getting bit by a copper head I may have to take a hiatus though. If it hadn't been for Michael spotting it I would have been laid up in the hospital today. Damn snakes!

daniel, don't use words like hiatus on a redneck site, and you sure do attract the snakes. isnt that 3 snakes in the last 3 hunts now?
by the way - buster and missy tied up this evening.

yeah I'm kinda tired of seeing the snakes myself, plus the heat sucks, maybe time for a break for awile. Of course I say that now, I'll be in the woods next weekend, lol, depends on how my dogs are doing, I got 2 cut now. Rocky's never healed from last week.

thanks yall, yeah he was a nice one, bulldogs had him SHUT DOWN too, those 2 bulldogs we have (Buddy and Jasmine) make you feel all warm and fuzzy knowing they are each on an ear...lol
