Walked out to check on the dogs this morning and found my pup "HORNET" with a ripped up ear and a 3" gash in his throat.  Seems he worked his head thru one of the 4" squares and probaly started squealing and another dog grabbed his head.  This little guy is my only male out of RIP X LUCY cross and my pride-n-joy.  I rushed him to the vet and was told that he was meant to live because the neck injury just missed the jug......  Vet couldn't save the ear, but said it was damaged in a place where he could crop both ears and make him look "pit" and it would be fine.....so we went with that.....I dont care for cropped ears on dogs, but got one now.  Saying my prayers of thanks......woulda been devistated if I lost him.

Whew! Glad he is gonna make it!

I would have left him with one ear myself. Only way I could get any of my dogs to stand out among the others! Grin

Pups will do the darndest things. I had a pup pull on the bottom of my kennel fence until he got a strand loose then he swollowed the J shaped piece and was stuck like a fish that swollowed a hook. Didn't think I would get him off without hurting him. Glad the pup is doing good. How big are the now. Took my BullyDane pups in to the vet and they are 18 to 20 pounds now.

Got him back from the vet yesterday.  He looks totally different, but will be a bad  Afro looking dude when he is grown.....The vet did a great job on the ears.  He is enjoying all the extra attention.  My wife is home this week and treating him like a king.....Thankful he's back home and recovering!
