We always used a bag a corn mixed with a gallon of red diesel or burnt oil. We always had trouble with coons and birds stealin the bait. Ain't had that problem since we did that

diesel soaked corn works the best for me cause every thing in the woods will eat sour corn i take a 5 gallon bucket fill 3/4 of the way full and let it soak an hour or so then drain off the diesel to reuse on the next bucket of corn then when you get to the trap take a rag an drop it in the bucket of soaked corn get it good and soaked then poor corn in the trap and wipe the trap down with the rag it covers any human scent then just hang the rag in the trap up off the ground so the scent blows in the wind or you could use diesel corn and hang a rag in trap behind trip wire soaked with sow in heat this really works for me ive caught many many hogs this way and i have traps baited this way as of right no but these other methods they are talking about may work for you when i find something that works i stick with it

I sure like to do that myself, and its bit me in the butt a few times. I try and keep an open mind about new things though, cause these suckers are smart, and getting smarter. I'll try almost anything once though, just to see if it works better.

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat. RAdm. "Jay" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995
