People talk about a strain of cur dogs that are well thought of...The name of this hog hunting strain is "Lionheart" hog dogs...This line of dogs is a fictitious name but  I have seen a certain strain and the name is well known... but when I looked at the pedigrees quite a few of the dogs come from bear dogs and coon dogs and from other kennels in general...but these dogs get bred and the puppies are sold as "LIONHEART" bred dogs...

In my mind I just can't see the dogs as the LIONHEART strain...It seems to me that at least 3 generations of selecting dogs for breeding including linebreeding from this mans selection process...to me this needs to happen before one can earn the right to call it their own line of dogs...it's not really a bad thing but when one has been breeding dogs for a good while then they should be breeding and selecting mainly from their own dogs and not importing dogs from across the country...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

You can call em your line of dogs when other people start referring to the dogs as your line, NOT you  Wink

well said gentlemen . it was the same in the chicken world . go buy you a trio of fowl from a well known breeder and cross them into some differant birds and walla now they are you own personal line . i've seen it a bunch in the catahoulas all the talk of line breeding and you look at the papers and every dog in it is from a differant kennel.
