As I was giving one of my dogs a bath yesterday to try and remove the skunk smell(darn trashy dog), I noticed a big hard knot on the outside of her front left leg right at the knee. Its every bit as big around as a quarter, kinda dome shaped, and sticks out .25-.5 an inch. Its hard as a rock, but I can grab it and it moves around a little bit, but not much. Dont seem to be bothering her at all or slowing her down a bit. Any ideas of what it is, and it is something I need to get her into the vet for?

Here are some pics, but they arent very good. I was trying to hold her with one had and takes pics with my phone in the other hand, and she wasnt havin it.

hygroma....they ge them on pressure points from hard surfaces..vet cant help much...DO NOT DRAIN IT. It can cause bad infection...get her off hard surfaces. some internet sites have home remedies like making epsom salt a paste and putting it on the i times a day and stuff...my hound has them.

How hard of surface you talkin bout? She is in a dirt floor kennel over night and during the day while I am at work. If I am home in the evening or weekends, she has full run of my yard. Not doubting what you say, but if it is that, what do I do? Just leave it alone? Will it go away?

yeah not much to worry on . i've seen a plenty . sometimes it's just what happens when they get a poke from or get a thorn in that spot . just the body's way of getting rid of it . had one on me in the thigh didn't even feel it . it finally pushed to the top and i felt something hard and sqeezed it and a locust thorn about 3/4 of an inch came out lol didn;t even know it was in there or when i got it ,
