Ole Brent "Cur Dog" been wanting to go hunting but we could never get the time right well today we got it right . Brent , my son Bruce and myself let the dogs out about 7 some were in there . Brent brought two young dogs and I had Horn, Hannah, Bell , Ranger and Ole Bo the catch dog.
Dogs hunted kinda slow at first guess they were still stove up from yesterday still kinda pissed me off anyway after about a hour of hunting are so Horn is tryin to run a track and so is Bell they get it straighten out and next thing we know they are 800-900 yds we move up and can now hear them . All the dogs were there and moving away from us so we decide to go the other way to head them off . Long long ride to the other side they are now bayed for atleast 45 mins get to the other side and they are still 800 yds out so Bruce takes off on the walk and Brent and mysel f go around with the wheelers to meet him when he comes out . Bruce get there the dogs have a 140-150 hog down and caught . We meet up with Bruce and then ole Horn is gone on a long long run look down he is 700 yds gone then 900 so we head back around he is really moving all over the place on us but we dont hear no barks . Then just as we were fixin to let the dogs go to the water hole . Ranger and Brents black and tan dog are 125 yds from us we hear the both bark about the same time turn Bo loose and caught hog . Brent takes care of the hog and we are still missing Horn he had done come by us and then now was moving back out the way he came . I think he was on a pack of hogs and they were breaking off as he was after them one by one . Horn done been on the run for a long long time now with never getting treed the other dogs are hot hot so take them to the water hole and I leave to go get Horn . I get back up the long long wagon trail road and it shows him 200 yds out and coming in finally . Get him on board and head to the truck .
Damn good hunt was slow at first but picked up to break neck speed in a hurry once the dogs got lined out. Thats two for Ranger in two days he is really picking back up to were he was before he got cut pretty bad here a couple months ago sure am glad to see that . Brents young dogs both done well the black and tan I think is gonna make a dog he was with my dogs the whole way on the first one and like I said he and Ranger stuck at the same time on the second one so thats doing pretty dang good .
This is the second hog below the first hog the dogs were on for a long long time and had him pretty messed up .
