Bulldogs on the nose .

Whats yalls thoughts on this ?  I tell ya am not out to really tie hogs myself to much dang work and I just cant with a bad back and most of the time to far in to even try to drag them out.  This also presents a lot of problems with my dogs because a lot of the times the dogs are rolling over and are bayed again by  the time you can even get the hog tied and half way out of the woods.  Also all the rackett you make and all the hell trying to get one out deep in the woods.  Most the time I will just cut the back strap out and move on and then aging alot of the times the buzzards got to eat too.  What does all this have to do with a bulldog on the nose well lots of folks dont like it cause they say it messes the hogs up but I myself dont care because its just meat to me anyway are if hunting for the farmers pest control leavem laying you cannot bring a live hog out .  I tell ya I have seen this dog of mine control a 338 lb boar hog on the end of his nose like the hog had power steering he did what the dog wanted not what he wanted.  As a matter of fact he was sitting on his butt squealing like a ten pound pig when we got there we thought it  was a little hog from the sound of it .  I have seen him do this a lot of times on bigger hogs .  Now am not talking about getting up in the mouth were the danger is but on the end of the nose controling the hog there is a difference .  Anway I have gotton to were I dont mind it so much anymore .  This old bulldog seems to have  a mind of his one when it comes to hogs do I take a ear are do I take a nose he seems to be asking himself as he gets tehre.

A bulldog gets one chance after he catches on the nose and only once. I don't tolerate it.  I am into catching big barrs and you have to cut em to catch em.  Now as far as properties and farm land you do as the land owner wants, so it doesn't much matter.

It's jus as easy for the bulldog to catch on the ear as the nose though and mine better be on the ear.

I hog can survive without an ear, broke snout ain't no good for me. If I killed everything I wouldn't care where but im with ba-iv if it ain't on the ear he most likely wont see next year. And if they are too far in, they get cut back loose right there. That's just me though. To each his own.

I had one that loved the nose. I didn't like it a bit but the biggest one I ever caught In weight   he was on the nose. I honestly think thats why I caught that hog bc he was straight in front of the hog and he couldn't peel him off. They are bad to break teeth catching on the nose. But he is the only one I ever had that did it. Had to by another nose for the hog when I got it mounted lol

i have mixed feelings about the way a dog catches. i like a caught hog anyway i can get it. i dont barr a boar since all it does is become a wrecking ball after that but i like a dog to have control of the hog and the snout is the best place.

My Queenie bitch catches on the nose every time. I don't care much for it, but she was the only one that didn't get cut. I know its gonna happen, and maybe she just gets lucky. Its not so bad on the big hogs but she will wreck the smaller ones.
