thanks im going to brand mine and i have 3 yellow and a black one so ill see how it turns out
You were correct Lauren. Yes you can fire brand...but it is perty rough on a dog due to the skin being much thinner than cattle or horses. I have seen plenty that had hot iron slapped to em that looked really good most of the time better than freeze. But the majority of the folks prefer freeze due to being less traumatic on the dogs. Wouldn't reccomened it unless you have somebody that is familiar with doing it or you will burn into the muscle very quickly. Dry ice and Nitrogen methods work well but if you have the option to choose ..go with nitro.. you will typically get a cleaner burn... do it with someone that knows how the first couple times and ... Haha make sure whatever your branding is staying for the long haul.

got him from a guy in huntsville , tx . he was getting out of hunting so i lucked out and was the first to jump on it . really enjoy hunting behind this dog ! im definatley goin to get pups off him, just dont know what im goin to breed him to ? guys name was jaime scott
I recomend putting him back over dane, youll keep the hardness from the pit blood but youll get some more nose and size from the dane, but they more than likely wont be full dane size so you wont have to worry about too big. But just the right combination to handle anything you come accross and make it look easy.

He's still young and doesn't have a lot of experience but has the drive. I think he would make a RCD'S if I hunted that way. 3/4 Pitt 1/4 Catahoula

mine is all business , loves to hunt ! he runs with mine and my buddies curs every step and ranges out 200 to 300 yards by himself sometimes. ive never seen a dog this heavy built that can run like he does , its crazy the endurance he has ! he hasnt found one on his own yet but ive only had him for a couple months . ive caught four hogs with him so far and knock on wood he hasnt gotten cut . dogs got on a runner one night in milo field and he finally ran it down and caught it 800 yrds on gps . this is the first one ive ever hunted with or even seen for that matter and he impresses the crap outta me ! not saying they are all good but this one def turned out to be one hell of a hog stopper ! no dog agression , no human agression , great handle, strong and fast catches hard !
Not being sarcastic. Just food for thought. By this description your telling typical behavior of a common working dane.(All Business) Not trying to be bias at all. But I believe it stands to reason that its not the pit in dog that makes him what he is. Its not the pit that doesnt make him what he is. But if it were there would be nothing to get excited about because all pits would do that. Anyway, like your dog bud. Please continue to post his acomplishments

Short doesn't mean fast, it usually means their legs are moving fast and they are using more energy to cover the same amount of ground...USUALLY not as fast as the leggier dog. But lead in cd, I prefer a smaller dog. Take two pits, same weight, same angulation of hock and croup, one has longer legs than the other, the leggier one will be faster.

He just got back to 110 percent... He was cut up pretty good... The dang dog is crazy when he gets on a hog... He just needs to figure out to stay on the hogs side... He will die before he lets go of a hog...
