Ive got a litter of yella dogs on the ground that will be 4 weeks old on sunday. The pups are walkin around good, growlin and tryin to bark at just about everything. Im thinkin its about time to start feedin them soaked feed, id like to get them weened off soon they are really draggin their momma down.
I think my last litter started with feed at about four weeks, but just wanted some opinoins on when yall start feedin pups.

I mix milk replacer with puppy chow. I actually blend it in a blender and then warm it. I offer it at 4 weeks.

I start feedin mine soon as eyes open and they start walkin I don't expect every pup to eat at this time but some will and within a week the rest will. I prefer mine to be eating as much as possible because my gyp goes down fast and looks like hell when nursing.

I start at 3 to 4 weeks when i feel teeth. Either add warm water or milk to soften hard food and as days go by i use less water or milk until they are eating hard food. Usually at 5 weeks they require no water or milk in it. Make sure you have water for them to drink and i HIGHLY recomend Sulmet in the drinking water. You can get a bottle at most feed stores and it will prevent them from getting cocciddia when they step in the water with dirty feet. Use about 2 tablespoons full per gallon and change it 1 time per day. I also start worming with nemex 2 at 2 weeks. Directions on bottle. I have raised puppies for many years and this has always worked for me. A friend with 40 years experience told me about the Sulmet. Good luck. I have seen pictures of your dogs, should be some lookers and hunters from the stuff you have said on how you hunt. Post pictures.

It won't say for dogs. My friend had raised and bred dogs since the 70's and he is the one that told me about it. A 16 OZ bottle is only like 12 bucks. Usually one bottle is enough and by that time they are big enough to have a higher water bowl and some are gone. Saves a lot of problems. look forward to the pictures.

At 3 weeks, i mix up dry and milk replacer. Make enough to fill a big tupperware container. Put in fridge and scoop some out next day and warm it in microwave, then let pups have a go. Some litters just push it around,,some Hoover it. Just be careful it aint too soupy, sometimes they can suck it up their noses and i've seen a few get pneumonia. Dont happen often at all, but i mostly want it mushy and soft so theirs no chance they'll aspirate. Good luck. Oh yeah, i let momma wean em when she's ready. If she'll let them nurse till they are 4 months old, fine by me. As long as she is in good shape, i like pups to get mama's milk as long as they can.
