I've done a few solo hunts and I'm sure I'll do a few more. I usually only take 2 dogs and a CD.

I would'nt say I do it alot but, I do from time to time. I just lead my catch dog in and when he catches I leg the hog. I leave my catch dog on until I get the pig tied, then get him off. Loading the pig can be a pain but, there is ways to do it by yourself.

I've gone a few times by myself. One time was with a good loose baying dog, a pup and a cd. Then a few times with just puppies and let em bay then catch em and leave. Just to work puppies. Get them out. And a few times with two loose baying dogs and my 30-30.... But I don't like goin alone.

I hunt solo most of the time. Only take two or three dogs max not counting a catchdog. I also carry a firearm when solo, been in some sticky situations.

I used to always hunt alone but I leave the hogs after the kill. 3 or 4 dogs and a catchdog. I only had one strike dog that I would have to catch to go home before he rolled out again

I have 2 rough bay dogs that are still learning, a pup that is learning and a RCD that does pretty good. I carry a pistol and a knife. Yesterday was the first time my RCD got on one bigger than he could stop. It was a big pig from the sound of him coming by. Just figured I would see how others went about this.

I hunt a lot by myself due to me working 11-7. Just take one bay dog and one bulldog. Either hobble the hog with the dogs holding him or just stick a pistol to his head.

I hunt alone often. I usually take two dogs. It just depends on my mood weather I take a catch dog or 30-30. The bay has to be pretty easy to get to for me to tie a hog by myself. Tying them alone is a job in its self, getting them out is another job. I like to hunt with buddies, but I like to hunt alone also. Hunting alone is a great way to hunt just 1 dog and really see if they can get it done by their self. Also alone is how I like to start my pups with one other dog. I think with less people & dogs it helps a pup to focus and hunt. My training pups consist of me staying out of their way and let them do the job they were bread to do. It is way easier to mess a pup up than it is to train one.

I hunt alone all the time. My wife doesn't like for me to go alone. Depending on the size of the hog? I would either knife it or bay and shoot on a big hog. Smaller hogs under 150 I would catch and tie alone. But that was before I got my bulldog.

i hunted alone for the first seven years of hog hunting . started with 3 catahoulas and a plott gyp that did exactly what i told them to do when i told them to do it lol . i couldn't imagine hunting alone with several cur dogs that had no handle on em . tying them solo was a gyp , if i didn't have a tree close by to haul the back leg up into . lol
