Do any of you guys have any idea (ballpark) of how much it would cost to get 30 acres surveyed?

Is it heavily wooded or open? I'm gonna guess 1500-1800 on the high side.

Thank you for the reply. The property is pretty open, there are some trees but the property could easily be walked, or driven through.

they use a total station to do this or a GPS , the station is more accurate , the cost will go up if they cant shoot straight lines or they haft to cut brush or trees to achieve this , they can shoot off sets to establish your line but more work more money , if your neighbor has a platt they will work off his pins , if not they will haft to brake down a half mile sqaure or even a mile sqaure , lots of ifs to a price , I got mine for a hundred bucks , my brother in law was a surveyer and it sucked , I did all the running with the stick and all the cutting, hes burnt himself up on meth since then and hasent worked in years

Bob..you'd be surprised how accurate the GPS systems are. My guys use them daily to set vertical elevations to within millimeters.
Is it a piece of property you are re-platting from a larger parcel, or just verifying? If it's been surveyed before and the property corner pins can be located, a boundary survey won't be that much....basically to verify an existing survey.

Thanks for the replies, this is a property i am trying to purchase. There are neighbors on both sides` who have fenced their property. The real state agent i'm dealing with says there is no previous survey.

I used to be a party chief but I did not do the billing. The GPS is getting much better. Shooting the lines is better. But it comes down to the people using the equipment. I ran a ranch that was thousands of acres and you talk about a pain. 30 acres depends on how clear the edges are and how many corners. At least rough land you can cut the line. I had some landscaped junk I had to figure out how to go around. But the construction stuff was crazy. Get stopped and told to run over and mark a road out that has curves. No calculator I had to use pencil and paper. Just a simple land survey? I think I need to go back into land surveying for $2,000 or even $950.

I just got 3.29 acres surveyed and it run me $940. A little high in my opinion but it had to be done.
