Our team was made up of me, Calvin Brown, A.L. Brown and Mike Winstead. My wife and two boys were helpers and Charles joined in to help on Saturday. We started hunting Thursday evening after everyone got off work and after a couple long races we got all the dogs back and started up again and caught a 140 lb. boar and called it a night. Caught a couple sows and two shoats on Saturday. Bayed one nice boar but he broke as soon as we unsnapped the CD's and cut a couple dogs that tried to stop him on his way out. The other dogs ran him for several miles but never did shut him down. Saturday started out with a long race on a boar and we finally decided to cut the dogs off before they crossed the highway. The puppys found and caught a couple shoats while the big dogs chased the boar. Went to another place and dropped out and after a couple hours we bayed a sounder and caught a sow. The dogs rolled out and stopped a 125 lb. boar with 2 inch cutters in a creek and that fast little sucker did some damage. He kept trying to break and they would shut him down and he would turn and start cutting dogs. Sent a CD and caught him but the damage was done and four good dogs were out of the hunt. After a couple hours of stiching and stapleing dogs we turned some more dogs out where the sounder busted and they rolled out on a track. After a little over a mile they fell bayed on a good boar on the edge of a tank. Sent the CD's and they caught him in the neck of the tank. We were waiting for them to swim to the bank and all of a sudden Charles bails off in the cold water like a wild Koodimundie and then screamed like a Banshee when the cold water hit him between the legs. laugh He grabbed the hog and drug it to the bank. If you ever need some good help then Charles is your man! The boar only weighed 195 but was a fighter and did some damage. Out of 15 cur dogs that got hunted over 3 days only 4 were'nt cut. The dogs did great but we had hell catching big hogs. We weighed in 670 lbs andI think we came in 5th place.

Ben, all the dogs will make it but it will be a couple weeks before they are ready to go again. It'll be good for my young dogs though !

Jimmy, it was hilarious ! I'm telling you, Charles Mann is a hand! There's no back up or quit to him. I asked him why he jumped in the cold water and he said , " by God you asked me to be a helper and that's what I did, I helped !"  Grin If I ever get in a real bind I want him on my side!

No big deal Tony. I was'nt able to hang around long after the weigh in. I was planning on introducing myself to you and Eric but yall were talking to some guys and I did'nt want to interupt yalls conversation. I'll make sure we meet at the next one. I did get to meet the infamous Chance Ward and I got to catch up on old times with Jason, i've known him for along time.
