I have taken the side lines for years know. I'm. Going to open a can of worms. What I see and here here on a weekly bases is pore me when I loose dogs running hogs. I will try to make this short and sweet. I run a vest on all my dogs why you ask when there not catchy, I don't what the hell you guys are thinking its not if there not going to be in a bad way with a bad ass hog it is when. Everyone I hunt with thinks there dogs are super human guess what your best dog in the woods are going to be put in a place were he or she can not get out of fast enough, I don't give a damn how great your dog is. Vest your dogs up and give them the best chance you can give them and stop trying to beat your chest on how many scares your dog has!!!

My dogs don't wear vest and never will except one catchdog does and that's a half vest. Maybe some future dogs might but not the ones I hunt now. That's just me I don't blame anyone for vesting any of their dogs. I honestly feel like it hampers them. Sure there are times that a vest will save a dog but there are also times that a vest can help kill one to. I know everyone has their own opinion.

Losing dogs is part of the game, because you're gonna have to pay to play, especially if you hunt big hogs consistently.

My dogs don't wear vests, tried it, no thanks, my bulldogs might get half a vest.  It's your dogs, you do what you will, but don't run down people because we run differently.

I'm going to write down your expert advise on a napkin and use it next time I'm in the woods... To wipe my butt...

Those tight spots where they can't move is also where a vest can hinder them from getting out of the way.... Then you have heat strokes in the warmer months, hung up will crossing water, etc etc...

A vest can cause you to loose your dog in more ways than just to a hog...

You could have given your opinion without coming across as a know it all smarta$$....  Smiley

I will agree with him/her on one thing and thats advertising the death of a dog. I read over and over about not showing pics of cut dogs but yet day in and day out we talk about cut dogs and dead dogs... Huh? May not be a pic but its still ammunition for the enemy.

If you have bay/strike/find dogs that will hunt all day in any weather and put down 20-30 miles, stay bayed for 8-10 hrs then tell me how well them vest are working out.!!!  Everyone has there way of doing thing but you have to do what is best for each individual dog.

To each his own!   If a cut collar is put on too loose or too tight it can herder movement.

Why did you quote me? I said nothing about cut collars or vests.... To each is own on that subject. I personally dont run vests on anything but catch dogs. I have friends that dont run them at all.. Its their dogs and they can do that.
