I got a dog that got her leg snapped by a hog and the bet had to put a pin in and wire it up and she has been out 2 months and still got a while to go.. She was just turning it on finding her own hogs when it happened.. My question is am I going to be able to get her back to going or is she good as dead???

Should be fine. Would u never hunt again if u didn't get to for a while? If the dog wants to hunt it will hunt. Even if u kept it locked up a year.

Had a dog that broke his left front leg when he was three months old . I gave him to my son for a yard dog . I kept him while he was on vacation and ran over the dog with my golf cart and broke his right front leg . We splinted the leg just like we did the left leg and in about six weeks he was walking fine. At about a year old a friend of my sons started the dog on cattle and at three years old he sold the dog as a finished cow dog . He is still going strong today at five years old . Dogs are tough animals and can toleate a lot . HUNT'UM UP !!!!

Had a dog that was comin on good and was fast. His back left upper leg got broke, vet pinned, i kept him in the biggest house/transport kennel at tsc and he did fine. Moved him to a 10x10 n did good. He didnt use his leg much n his leg muscle degenerated but i put him a 30' cable n he is using the leg a lot more. I kept him outa the woods for nearly 4mths n he was fully the same, but is getn back to where he was in speed n trailing, even on 3.5 legs. He uses the leg more for a pogo stick when running.

I know its not a broke leg but a dang good gyp of my buddies got her tendon in her back leg cut smooth in half, he made her lay up for about 4 months then put her back on a chain, to this day she still produces hogs dang near every hunt and she doesn't use her back leg much at all, about like the fella above said.....more of a pogo stick than anything. she can still burn out and hang with the other dogs and is usually in the front of the pack....only bad thing is that now she gasses out a little faster than she used to, but still a dang solid dog all the same.

Show the dog a small pig to build the confidence back up just in case. If the dog goes right back at it don't worry. If the dog hesitates work it with a few small pigs to get it going again.
