I really don't know but I would be skeptical about it. But if its a sure enough dog it shouldn't matter.

I have always believed in getting dogs that were hunted in the area that I hunt. That being said, like Hillybilly stated, if he is a real hogdog, he should produce anywhere. He might have to go thru a period of adjustment but should be fine. Another thing, some dogs hunted in a lot of hogs look like a million bucks but put them in places where the dogs really have to cover ground, or trail up a single hog or even running hogs, they might not look so good. I would make sure I hunted with the dogs before I buy them.

If they use their nose not their eyes they should be fine. I would expect a transition period for them to get use to the smells of the environment. I feel that a good dog can find hogs anywhere if they are present. Like I said tho I would expect a transition period.

Where at in Louisiana? I'm about 45 minutes to an hour from the line and the terrain seems about the same? Idk maybe I'm wrong. Dogs on southeasttexas are close to my area and should work fine in yours

Agree!! If its a sure enough dog then terrain don't make a bit of difference..

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

well I've had the oppurtunity to hunt the wide open country and the east texas swamp bottoms with the same dogs . it is different on them but the only big change was the dogs worked closer and didn't have their normal range in the thickets . but the more they were hunted in the swamp the more they ranged out . I think they started to actually prefer the swamps to the farm land . so with a little time the dogs will adjust just fine .
