We met up with several other TDHA members at the Scout Camp in Athens, Texas for a day with the kids put on by Sportsmans Alliance Foundation. A good time was had by all as the kids got to pet the dogs, ask questions, watch dogs retrieve and blood trail as well as attend trapping and archery exhibits and fish.
TDHA was well represented by 8 adults and 3 of our TDHA kids. As I understood, there were over 500 kids from the Dallas area in attendance.

This little girl didn't have a dog of her own and spent the whole day with my Tonka dog.

Talking dogs and hogs to the kids.

Freckles, the springer spaniel showed off her retrieving ability for the kids.

Some of the info and displays. The kids loved getting to see and hold the deer antlers and tools of the trade.

Some of the kids attached to the dogs very quick. Has a few who just sat and hung out with the dogs. Smiley We also had several adults who showed alot of interest. That is really a great thing they have there.

It was good to meet yall. Critter schooled me on the art of trapping, Thanks, it was great. Grin Hope to see yall at the next one.

Apart from teaching those kids about hunting, I really enjoyed the company we had! I met some new folks and got to see some friends that I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of. Brute, Jeff, Lance and Erin, were all folks I'd never met before but have really missed out on all this time. Glad to know them now, for sure. As for John, Stephanie, and Savannah... Gonna have to figure out how to get them to move a little closer to Houston :O)
