im a Texan, but its soon to filter down here about dogs during deer season, but why is it the deer hunters can ban together to ban dog hunting for hogs, but the hog hunters cant ban together to allow it in other states, and continue it here in texas? I know this horse has been kicked to death, just wondering why. I know it may be hard for folks to get down to the capital or wherever the hunting laws are being made up, but there is very little info on who to contact, when these meetings are, where they are being held and so forth. only info ever posted is about stopping the bunny humpers from taking our dogs away, but stopping the bunny humpers aint gonna do no good if the hunting laws chage to where we cant even use dogs no matter what. all the screaming about taking our dog breeding rights away will do nothing but allow us to keep the dogs as house pets if we loose the right run hogs with dogs. hog hunting maybe 24/7, but its seasonal too if you count the summer months when its to dangerous to run the dogs and risk heat strokes or death of the dog, so in reality there is only 3-5 months of good running weather and then deer season rolls back around.
sorry for hijacking this thread, but I thought it sorta fit in the op topic. ok, off my hobby horse.

I think by that he means you can not hunt off a county road which is a good thing in my eyes.

the reason they dont let us hood hunt in comanche county okla. is because its supposedly obstruction of view, i think thats stupid because we dont go any faster than 5-10 mph while theyre on the hood, they give us tickets everytime they see us doin it.

Dogs For Hunting

Dogs may not be used in taking bear, deer, elk, antelope and turkey.

Except as otherwise provided, nothing shall prohibit the year-round pursuit of game (species that can be lawfully hunted with dogs) for dog training or sport only. However, unless otherwise provided, no person in pursuit of game with hunting dogs outside the regular harvest season shall possess the means to harvest such game.

this is from the reg's  dont take it out of context ,each wma has its on reg's on" persuit with hounds "check the dates on the wma you want to hunt

I bet the game warden will change your mind if you are on public land. If your on private land it won't matter

Used to be able to hunt public after the first 9 days of gun season. Has it changed to all of deer season?
