The whole dog food issue is a matter of opinion....but Ive been using the Pride Pro 26/20 in the orange bag. I used to use the black bag of Pride which is 24/20 but there is a strain of Plotts I use that when we bear hunted in high elevations the dogs had seizures. The  Pride pro has made our dogs look better and a little more muscular. Its chicken based. Theres 100% meat dog food but is really expensive. I dont know if theres a Pride dog food dealer in Texas but going to the 26/20 was worth every penny.

But it's just weird cuz all my other dogs stay fat all the time no matter how hard I hunt them

This is going to sound weird but I had a walker female one time the only way I could keep her in shape was a automatic feeder if I tried feeding here twice a day I would waste dog food!! I guess she ate when she wanted to not when I wanted her too! I also believe there is not a lot of difference in dog foods other then protein levels! you should be able to feed any Quality dog food and be fine!!

Meat is not high in fat content. I feed all raw to my dogs. In order to keep weight I have to feed a concoction of oat, veggies , total cereal , yogurt and a few other ingredients.
