Is dog food prices around everyone on here? I went and bought a bag of feed for a guy yesterday Diamond High Energy and it was $32
Usually I get Sportmix (black bag) for $30 blue bag is the same price, but lately I've been feeding the blue bag of Retriever from TSC it's around $20-$25 I believe. I was just sitting at work bored thinking about it, so what's everyone else paying for there feed...

It is very ridiculous,  thats why anytime I kill a deer or hog i scrap out a lot of food and freeze it in bags.  I normally save several months worth.

Sportsmix went up to $34 a bag... I remember when it was $12 not too many years ago!

I switched back to Victor cause it was a little cheaper... not by much.

my theory on price increase has to do mainly with 2 reasons...

1. the price of fuel went up so everyting had to go up including dog food...

2. some dumba$$es thought that with a fuel shortage that we should make ethanol from corn and mix it with the gasoline to make more fuel so that we can conserve fossil fuel...except they didn't think it all out because by time you disc, plow, plant the seed, cultivate and fertilizer, and then add the pesticides and herbicides, the price of corn has to go up... Then take the corn and harvest it carry it to the refinery plant, dispose of the waste and finally take the product to the service station that they probably wasted more fuel in producing this so called corrosive ethonal...not even going to discuss how it makes our 2 cycle engines including 4 wheelers and weedeaters etc...etc.. run rough and this wastes more fuel because of the fouled carburators...
BOTTOM LINE...these folks thought that making ethonal out of corn that it would help but all it has done is made everything that uses corn to produce dog food among other feeds to sky rocket the prices...man that was long winded...but that is  about how I see it...
