BMC Outcross - help from the older guys

I know that there are people on here who love to knife the Weatherfords Ben dogs - feel free to vent whatever you need to elsewhere....we are not looking for arguments (or so and so is a "tool squeezer" comments please.... )  If you'd like to have a look at our dogs working there are a lot of photos on here, feel free.

We are very happy with our choice of bloodline and how our dogs (and pups are progressing) and as I'm sure you are aware we are the first (another BMC bloodline Ladner based I'm told came in recently but they'd prefer to do there own thing - which is fine) BMC breeders in Australia.  We do have some genetic diversity in our dogs but within the next few years we are going to need an outcross.  As we can't just go down the road and throw a dog over Myles's fence  , we have to put some thought into this.

We have the opportunity to get some semen imported from a dog called Scott's Newt (previously owned by Judd on here) and now owned by Colt Anderson.  From what I've heard and seen Newt seems the real deal (which is the main reason why we are interested in him).  I have seen a copy of his papers (I won't post on here as I haven't asked permission) and I'm interested to know a bit about the dogs behind Newts grandmother SC Reba (I am aware TLS delight is an outcross as well). 

So if the old timers (with the greatest respect) could tell me a little about the following dogs I would appreciate it greatly.

Rio Grande Blondi
Burkharts Margo

Your question of an outcross on your Weatherford Ben bred dogs is interesting. I have seen several WB bred dogs which Rodney Spivey got from E. Rathke. Rathke did a good job of selecting and producing dogs with inbreeding coefficients above 30%. These dogs are early starting, rough with good noses. Rodney produced a couple of outcrosses and he may wish to comment on them. I liked very much a litter he produced from Clue Anderson's Cowboy dog. I think he also bred to Tyson, a dog that he got from Clue, I think with good results. Clue's dogs are from similar ancestors as are in WB's background. If I had WB bred dogs I would consider breeding to Clue's line if I could.

I don't remember the pedigree on Gay's Sonny but I know he had some of the same background as WB, from Ben Jordan's dogs. Randy wright had a gyp before he got WB that I think he called RioGrande Blondie. As I recall, she was a good gyp and very rough. I don't know Burkhart's Margo but I am familiar with the dogs that Red Burkhart had. Margo may be out of a gyp called VK. VK was supposed to have come from V K Sowell of south Texas and was a good cowdog and a good brood gyp. I will check pedigrees to see if I can provide more.

well here is my opinion

gays sonny line breed dogs seem to be a on the crazy side and hard to handle (stay away from)
rio grand blondie is hard to beat line breed all you can great producer
I have not had enough margo blood to say any thing

Hopefully theres no switch-a-roo with the tadpoles and they are swapped for a spotted dog....fighting back GAG reflex....

I know rodney is pleased with his crosses with tyson.
I owned a tyson x jesse male and I was really pleased with him.
