I was talking to an old timer and he was telling me about how he used to have this sow and her piglets that would come and graze right in the middle of all his cows every now and then. Then when they start to root up the field he shot the sow. The next day he looked out and the piglets were laying in the field by the cows. He said there piglets lived with his cows for probably a month maybe longer. They would run off when he drove up to them but would always come back when he was done feeding. They eventually moved on but I thought it was cool how they just moved in with his herd. Anyone else ever here if something like this?

I was just talking about that in another post. I have seen a good boar take refuge in a group of cows with a bulldog hot on his hind end. Ive also had traps set at a cattle farm and the farmer always said they were hanging around his cows. Then one day i went to check some traps and there was a HUGE sow and her piglets in the broad daylight just easing around with the cows. I believe that over time either the pigs think that they are cows. Lol. Or they think that if the cows are safe out there then they will be to. This boar hog that i was after that kept running to the middle of the cows would let me get crazy close to him with the dog. Like within 10 yards or so. He would only run if the cattle spooked or when i let the dog go. It was the craziest thing ive ever seen. We also bought a house on the back side of the cattle farm i was just talking about and my wife said she saw 3 hogs with our cows one day. By the time i got up there they were gone. But i honestly believe they were there. We live on the river surrounded by thousands of cows and a pretty good hog population. I think that sometimes they just do what the cows do for whatever reason.

Some Hogs are still stock and can't help themselves. They are about as smart as your average inner city democrat and they know two things; 1: where to find a handout 2: there's saftey in numbers
Lol
