they remind me of my big heavy boned Catahoula's that turned out to be useless on a running hog , if they didn't catch it at the first bay they would get outclassed . lol

they are bred not far from my house about 60 miles or so. i have never seen but one and it was a female my buddy had got it from a guy from down that way, she was short legged and not much go to her, but thats the only one i have ever seen in my hunting career. its alot of people that hog hunt around here and i think if they was the right dog to have they would be talked about more. im not bashing the mans dogs or downing them just giving my .02 on them as the one i seen and from the people that i know.

Make sure you don't confuse the Howard Carnathan strain of southern BMC with the JD Howard (Howardtown) strain of southern BMC.

One of them is an old school, old-fashioned, run to catch, silent trailing, chop mouth, multi-purpose, lead dog on cattle, guard your property, protect your family, work all day and go tree coons all night, jam up cur dog.

The other one is just sort of a mixed up, oversized, sloppy built dog with aggression issues.

I am friends with some of the Howard's that had these dogs. I also use to hunt them years ago if u could find one that would bay he was just waiting on some help. All of the ones we had were more or less running catch dogs. I was hunting with on of the guys a few weeks ago and we were talking bout the dogs and he said u could find any of the old stuff anymore. No body kept the line going. But u could hog, coon,or deer hunt them.
