I'm getting ready to build new kennels for my 8 dogs. 4 males 4 females. My plan is this... 22'x22' concrete pad. 4 separate 5'x10' sections for the males and 2 separate 10'x10' for the females, 2 females in each section. Is this enough room for everyone? It was important for me to have all the males separate to avoid fights when females come into heat. I'm using 55 gal. barrels as houses, elevated off of the ground.
I appreciate all the advice/help that yall wanna give. Thanks

Agree. I was hunting the other day and heard the wife screaming and come to find my dogo bitch climbed the kennel and into the kennel with my cur bitch and the fight was on. I put my catdo in the another fm and they started fighting, then had a pair of females that would fight as to look at each other. Separate the females just as with the males.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!

lol yep my males would get into a fight every now and then and not leave a mark on each other and forget about it , but when the gyps get into a fight they will take chunks out of each other and hold a grudge for years

10-4. Sounds like I will be making an 8 section pen. But the space should be fine though right?....5'x10' for each? Post some kennel pics if yall have some handy.

These are my females and they no longer fight, now that they have their own suite. 5wx8Lx5h kennels using utility panels. This is the preferred method using the utility panels. ![](http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/goruss64/IMAG0958.jpg) These are the males 4wx8Lx4h kennels using cattle panels. ![](http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/goruss64/IMAG09602.jpg)

I also have 8 ea 4' x 12' kennels and they are big enough. They are made out of 4" x 4" panel and I used 2" x 4" and ran them through the paneling to make a platform in each kennel. I then also used barrels but I am now switching to plywood houses.
I think 5 x 10 is big enough. I like having 8 kennels. I separate doge by male- female-male-female.
I also have a 10' x 12' kennel on the end for puppies, or a spare dog. If you want to see a pic, send me a PM with your number and I'll text you a pic.

As posted above females will rip each other apart and should never be put in same kennel male and female kenneled together usually works just place female and male together that you want to breed where there is no accidentally breeding or kennel all dogs apart if room is no issue
