THIS MAKES THE SECOND DOG I HAVE HAD THAT HAS HAD SORES ON THEIR ANKLES.  THESE SORES ARE ABOUT AS BIG AS A NICKLE OR LITTLE BIGGER.  THE ANKLE IS SWOLLEN A BIT BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW DOESN'T BOTHER TRAVELING.  THE DOGS KEEP THEM CLEAN BUT THEY DON'T HEAL VERY GOOD.  ANYONE KNOW WHAT MIGHT CAUSE THIS?

If the dog has swollen ankles and numerous raised white areas, one of my catchdogs(PIT) develops a similiar condition every year. I give him 1000mg's of Cephalexin for three weeks and it always clears up. Cepha is great for bacterial skin infections.

Had something very similar to that on a dog.  I fought it with different remedies and some of them helped but eventually the spots came back.  Turned out to be staph.  Fixed with antibiotics from the vet and regular bathes with maleseb shampoo.

He's out.  And you're out.  And i don't think I'm in either.

The dog i have as my profile pic has a similar problem with his back ankels.when he was about 6mths old he got his tie down cabel wraped around his ankel and it rubbed it raw.my wife put triple antibiotic oinment on it and wrapped it with ankel wraping for horses,he tried chewing it off and got it to tight around his foot and he almost lost his foot over it.i have tried all sorts of medicine other than strong antibiotics.it has now moved to the other foot.it has a black scab on the wounds and no hair grows on it anymore.what could be done w/o spend a fortune on vet bills?
