Truck got stuck while the dogs were bayed. Anybody had this happen? Never had a more helpless feeling. Got stuck so bad that the dogs had to wait on me for quite some time. Dogs were running one when we started off on em. Two quit the race at two miles at a river. Two swam it... Dogs stayed bayed for 5 hrs. When we finally got pulled out and drove around to the other side we went in to em still tree'd. At forty yards we could barely hear em. Both were worn ass out. They had run over 3 miles and stayed bayed when they got there. Now,  my dogs have trashed before but never stayed bayed on trash... It was the middle of the night and there's no telling what actually happened but they came walking up to me in the dark forty yards from where they had stayed tree'd at. They were so tired they came to my light. We couldn't cut the bulldog in because we couldn't see or hear em.  In my opinion they were probably still baying on a dead pig, but I can't tell the story that way cuz we never found it.  (Super thick in the middle of the night ) They were covered in super sloppy mud that woulda covered up any pig blood anyways. Still super proud even though I can't tell the story as sure fire fact. Damn I love my hunting dogs. They ain't the best. But they are mine.

If u had a garmin on them u may can go back in the daylight to see. Regardless baying 5 hours I would be proud as well. Mad I couldn't finish it but proud they stayed that long. Now they know u are coming. Next time they may stay that lil bit longer .

I have had young dogs do the same thing at night try hissing them back to the hog. They should go back to baying the dead pig or hog that they were baying. I have had it work with mine before just something you could try, sounds like they gave you a solid effort tho  I would be proud of them

I may go back and do that. Good idea. We spend a lot of time wondering why our dogs did something so weird or why they decided to run that deer etc... That I wanted to share that story. Sometimes your dogs perform and that's when it's all worth it. Makes all those trash breaking and poop scooping sessions worth it.
