Does anyone have any good ones? so far i can remember terpintine for earmites. sore pads, bad cuts. Polk salat and motor oil for mange. cutting tips off of ears of a dog that is overheated.

My people have been using slash/longleaf pine rosin/tar for generations. I keep an old coffee can in the barn to this day. Heat it and use as needed. Dogs, horses, cattle, people, whips.

for mange dad would mix old used burnt motor oil with  sulfur or flower of sulfur. Coat the spots with it and repeat when needed.

eggs and oatmill for the hair  coat

castor oil for ear mites.

I'm sure there is a lot more.

burnt oil for mange goes way back...I got a recipe for the tough mange so the old man told me back in the late 1970's for mange...

mix about a quart of mineral oil with a pint of malathon 50 and pour about 2" of refined sulfur in container, shake it up and rub it on the manged areas...nasty stuff but it worked back in those days...

Caster oil and alum (pickling spice) for cuts. Make a pate out of it. Dogs don't like licking it. The caster oil makes it stick and alum draws the wound together and infection out.
