Finally got a day off yesterday so myself and Josh Stokley decided to make a run on our lease in nome. I toted my littermate brother slick and skeeter as well as an unstarted puppy out of this past years litter i call bud. Josh brought his smurf and aj dogs.

We eased out from camp and turned loose..... the dogs took a track and all eventually came back out except for my slick dog who wasn't but roughly 300yds into a thicket making circles like crazy slowly getting farther out. I had just told Josh that i bet something was about to happen  based off his actions on the garmin and sure enough he came bayed. The other dogs, roughly 600yds away from him heard him and hauled tail to him, they all got there and the bay surprisingly held. We heard em all hammerin away and eased in, i was about 75yds out and heard the god awful sound of a dog squallerin/screamin and got in there quick as we could to find a pretty nice boar hog caught. I was happy as could be when i got to the bay to see my pup "bud" in the middle of the action caught with the big dogs. We got him caught and decided to barr him and turn him back out BUT we both managed to forget all our leads

well I had attached pictures and typed the rest of this but I guess maybe tapatalk limits the amount of text you can post Huh?? IDK..........

anyhow so we got the boar caught and tied, I walked the dogs all out of the woods and josh stayed with him to cut and turn him loose. got the dogs to the buggies and checked me all out, my dog skeeter took a pretty good hit to the ribs and the rest were pretty much untouched. Skeeter will live to bay again.

Josh got back to the buggy and we eased on to another spot and stopped to drop em again. My slick dog and my pup took off back the direction we came and turned into the woods and Joshs dogs took out ahead of us. We were hanging out waitin on something to happen and my slick dog and bud sounded off again, joshes dogs heard em and got there pretty quick and shortly after we had hog number 2 caught, a good eatin sized sow that will killed.............to eat  Grin. Josh headed back to the trail to grab his 4wheeler to get her out of the woods, once we got her out we looked around and his smurf dog and my slick dog were gone again so we grabbed the 2 dogs on the ground and headed to em. Smurf trailed one of this sows shoats .60 from us and managed to get him caught.........sadly it was a little white and black spooted boar hog that woulda made a great barr hog down the road but thats just how it goes.

I had stuff to do around the house so we called it good for the day and headed out. Not an amazing hunt by any means but it was great to get back in the woods again and let the dogs run. Couldn't be happier with my slick and bud dogs.

......pics to follow, happy hunting folks.
