Deadgumm dogs are starting a tick collection, I'm wanting to use something that really works....

I've usually used the once a month advantix.

any other suggestions or anything new on the market? I'm not wanting to do the permethrin 10% spray this year on my dogs if I don't have to......

I run this on my deer dogs and it last for 3-months and I NEVER pick a tick off; Preventic® Collar I get them from jefferspet.com
Been using them for several years now and my brother just bought them last year and he couldn't believe how good they worked also.

A little pricey depending on how many dogs you have.  I don't have a problem in the summer with my hog dogs thankfully.  I might pick a couple off all summer.

Not that I am aware of, it is strictly for ticks.

If a man has the time, some wintergreen alcohol or absorbine mixed with a shot of pour on wormer in a spray bottle will work good, spray and wipe against the grain and beside it opens the dogs poors and allows them to cool off.

The collars that the guy was talking about works good on tick but not on fleas. The Bayer tree and shrub works on fleas but not tick. I just started using this 2 months ago but it works for me on fleas and ticks. 3cc down the back of a 50 pound dog or bigger. And smaller the dog smaller the dose.

Ivomec once a month does a good job. Helps keep ticks and fleas down. Plus we spray the pens and houses with a permithiam blend. Up here, we battle ticks more than anything.
