Went and made a hunt with Larry Smith, Charlie Gaines, and Mike Lemonye. When you are in a area that you can track hunt it really pays off. Found a good track and put Charlie’s Plott Gumbo and my Hank dog out. The trailed about 6/10 of a mile and jumped. After a couple miles we packed some young dog s in and ran this hog 7.33 miles and bayed. Went in and caught and Barred him. Went to another place and found a good track and put Gumbo and Amber out. Gumbo started opening and we packed a couple of young dogs in and ran him to the creek. Big red boar that we caught and barred. We split up and about 2:00 I found a good track and put Amber on it. She trailed thru 2 blocks and two put a young dog in with her. They bayed about 200 yards in a cutover. Larry and them got there and we turned some young dogs in hoping to make him break but he stayed bayed. We went around and turned 2 catch dogs loose and they missed him. The boar runs right in front of us, crosses the creek, stops and is waiting on the dogs. Right in front of us. Dogs get there, knock him in the creek and the rodeo starts. He about drowned both bulldogs. I jumped in and with just Amber hanging on his ear, caught him and drowned him right there. The banks were to steep and I was in water up to my neck. One mean dude.
