What kind of time frame do you expect your dogs to be able to take a track after it’s been laid?
If you are asking how cold a track they can take it varys with conditions. That being said by the time they are 8 or 9 months old I can dump them in fresh sign and they will try their best to trail it up. They might not get it lined out or they might trash on something hotter but they will be trying to get after something.

Cajun, yes I was referring to how cold of a track. I was just curious what kind of nose the hounds have
