Rancher called and said pigs where back ain’t seen none in this area in a good while two yrs. Load up few dogs and head out. Drop Reba spud and pork chop my friend had his young dog. We cast and they get gone after bout 30 min spud comes back then goes back out in a different direction. Gets bout 500 and pork chop links up with him they roll pretty good we siting back waiting. They get bout a mile out along the creek we move around to get close. They are real close to another property we can go on but I really didn’t want them over there cuz it’s cross the creek and road takes forever to get over there. Bout that time we hear Reba the other way she had a small one caught mean while spud starts hammering then pork chop then my buddy’s dog shows they have a small group. Get close it’s super thick catch dogs get hung up hog the single out hits a tank 100 yards off the creek and the dogs catch it in the water. Then the queen her self swims across the tank lol she could have just ran around lol. Any way let my grandson stab the hog with the help of papa lol. Dogs roll and get bayed 1000 yards down the way on the creek this area is tuff water is deep and the banks are high and it is super thick in there pork chop and my buddy’s dog are hammering Reba off to the side few hundred baying get there let spud go to help and they cross the creek few times bay here bay there. Spud and Reba roll of pork chop stays there he barking ain’t moving I thought that was odd that the queen her self went to him and pushed on my buddy’s dog was there to I said guys something ain’t right well pork chop was telling us that my buddy’s dog had drowned in the creek was bad deal

Dang man I hate to hear that. The water is definitely cold right now. Add the fact that they had just gotten out of cold water to go get in more is bad medicine. I’m not the only that knows how fast cold water will take your air I’m sure. Being in a bad spot, spent, and cold is tough. I sure hate it for him. I’m glad y’all got into some hogs. Sounds like the hogs kinda got told on about which direction the survivors migrated to.

That's tough, I've known of several that died in or from the cold water. Hypothermia is no joke. Other than the dog dying that was a productive hunt.
