I finally got Thre " Look Fur Um "  and his 10 year old son Wales And Herchiel to drive up for a hunt. The only days we could all three get together was on Monday night.  So we made plans.  I looked at the weather forcast and it was calling for the temps to be in the mid 20s.  They got here and we loaded up and started hunting right after dark, about 6:00 .   The weather man was right. The temp was dropping fast and it wasnt long before there was ice on the ground.  We hunted for a couple of hours and finally jumped one and we ran it for a while and got out ran. Hunted long and hard without much luck.  Thre's son Wales was a real trooper as the temps was cold and there was water everywhere.  Wales never complained or gripped or anything other than saying he thought his feet were going to break off.  We asked him several times if he wanted to go back to the truck and he said " NO, I want to catch a hog " .  So we continued hunting and we were almost done whenthe dogs jumped and ran and crossed the slough on us. It was full of water and no way to cross it.  We heard the curs catch the hog so we had to do something. We drove all the way around and back in from the other side.  This means 2 miles out and 2 miles back to em. When we got there it was a little boar about 120 lbs. The cursa still had him caught. I legged it and we let Wales stick it.  After we got it stuck i looked at my watch and it was 4:00 am . Now we still had a 2 mile ride back to the truck.  Man it was cold. When we got to the truck there was ice on the windows and the temp was 27 degrees .  By the time we got back home and in bed the sun was coming up . AGAIN  ! ! !  Dang it was a long cold night. But as always a lot of fun hunting with Thre, Wales and Herchiel .

Good account, and nice looking smile on his face.  Love those father / child hunting trips.

Sounds like a nice cold hunt.

Y'all need to get Wales on a trophy so Thre can mount it for him.

Ya trying to kill me Chris. He has one caped out in the freezer he got a while back that was nice. I have a half life size I've been working on for Marvin and the rut has started here. Not complaining at all but it has been busy. Two deer and hog got dropped off here this morning. Grin

It was a cold night and Wales was a real trooper I was freezing. LOL We spent as much time on the four wheelers as we did on the ride to marvins and back. I still need to get a dog a ride closer this way if you get a chance after deer season.
