Okay Clay, here you go. Now you have to give us all daily reports. We are all pulling for Riley to make a full recovery.

For those who don't know, Clay and Stacie's pup "Riley" was struck by a vehicle on the highway this past weekend while hunting for the contest. We aren't sure if the hog broke across the roadway or if the pup just got separated and managed to get out on the road by herself. At any rate, she was wadded up on the side of the road when our hunting party tracked to her. Although her injuries at first seemed grave, the pup had just enough fight in her to let everyone know she was willing to try to survive.

Last I heard, she was eating and drinking well, high on rimadyl and stool softeners, and on her way to healing - but not to the point of getting up and down on her own. Now clay pretty much has to give us the update  Grin

Cheers

They probably assumed she was dead. She was pretty much laid out from what I hear. I was late getting to the scene so I didn't see her on the highway. It will be interesting to hear how she is doing now 4 days into her recovery process.

Cheers

I hope she makes a full recovery.  I call him every day for a Riley report and everyday she sounds like she's doing a little better.  I hunt with Clay enough to have watched this dog grow up and she was really starting to turn on.  I hope to see her in the woods again one day.

Thanks for that update!!  Yeah - she was pretty much laid out on the side of the road when we got there.  Could tell one hip/leg was messed up and thought it might have broken her back but she started waggin her tail after we got her back to the camp and in the shade.  She is definately a fighter!!  I look forward in hearing that she made a full recovery and is back in the woods hunting again soon!!!

Yea dabutcher, pretty sorry indeed, she had 2 collars with Clay's tags on them and possibly another on Matt's tracking collar that could have been called...that's about as sorry as it gets. Huh? As Mandi says.....Grrrr!
