I was told to join here from a friend of mine in Texas! I am located in Central Florida but grew up hunting in South Florida. I've been hog hunting all my life basically and it's about the only type of hunting I do. I'm sure it's different in Texas but finding places to hunt is getting rare in Florida.. With all the developing going on it gets rough. I look forward to sharing stories, pictures, and conversing with you all!

My dogs:
Plott hound - My main trail/strike dog. Very rough, will stop and try any size hog and catch <100lb hogs alone.
Redbone/plott gyp - Looks straight redbone. Daughter of my plott, coldest nose of my pack.
Blackmouth cur - My oldest dog, about 7-8 years old. Still in good hunting shape. Rough at times but easy to handle.
Blackmouth cur - My newest addition, 10.5 months old now. Already bigger than the rest of my dogs. Still learning the ropes but seems to enjoy going and sticks with my older BMC so he should turn out alright.

Had a Dogo/Pit for catch power but had to put him down a little while back.. Haven't found a new catch dog yet but I would like to get a puppy soon!

I've been wanting to set up a trip to Texas to go hunting! Most of the places I hunt are heavily wooded and wet.. Not always a blast catching nasty ones in a swamp but ya can't beat when they're in the palmettos!  Wink

Yeah, it's rough around here some times. I have a few places I go on friend's properties that are decent but I'm always trying to find new places to go. The management areas aren't usually worth the drive.. I grew up hunting on a bunch of ranches in Okeechobee but getting good places to hunt is becoming harder every day since there are so many people into hog hunting now!

Oh yeah? That's not too far off.. I did some hunting up by Old Town at Mallory Swamp when it was open.. Did alright but management areas get hunted hard when they're open.
