VERY CLOSE CALL

Me and Tab(turdburd) went this morning before going into work. We put the dogs out and waited around for awhile. Our parker/catahoula gyp and BMC male were showing 600+yds on the GPS to the south. Our male catahoula was hunting around 350yds to the north. We decided to get in the boat and head down the river towards the two dogs. When we got there they were on the edge of the bayou thinking about the best way to cross. We loaded them in the boat and brought them across. We turned them out on the other side of the bayou and they hunted around for a little bit. The whole time our male catahoula that was to the north was coming towards us. I caught my male BMC and we were in the process of trying to catch the parker/cat gyp when she started to bark. About right, when we need to catch the dogs and head home for work. We let the gyp bay by herself for about ten minutes deciding if we should cut my BMC loose, well we turned him loose and he shot out to the bay. We watched him get there on the GPS and he went to chopping. We just so happened to be trying out a new catchdog, little did we know we were fixing to have a mess on our hands. By this time our ol'male cat finally caught up with us and was on his way to help. he is REAL rough and will try anyhog so we picked up the pace. We got within 25yds of the bay and could see the dogs darting in and out of the briars and new the hog was a good one. Cut the catch dog in and she ran about 10yds and looked back at me!!!!!!!!!!! At this point the hog comes out the briars a bit and we can see the dogs taking a beating!!! this boar weighed about 200-250lbs and had some good cutters and he was MAD!! He handed out whoopin after whoopin to our dogs and the pitbull wouldnt do a thing but booger bark and run!!!! I shot at this hog with my pistol but didnt get good shots because of trying not to shoot dogs. After about 15minutes of the dogs getting beat down i had enough and me and Tab caught our dogs off the hog and had to watch the big black s.o.b WALK away like he was the heavy weight champion of the world!!!!!!!! Man that hurts! Thank goodness for the vest on our ol rough cat or he would be gone!! He will be laid up for a while but this is the second time that this hog beat up my dogs and got away with it! Gotta get me a good catchdog and then we going back after him!! I cant believe it the bulldog actually ran in then did a 180 and came right back out and stood behind me and Tab and started barking!!!!!!!!!!

Yea Bryant i agree, I am done trying her!!! I almost got smoked by the hog when i ran in to try and grab a back leg for the 3 seconds our cat had the ear and that pit gyp was standing about 25yds away just watching. the hog ran at me and that big ol black dog jumped right inbetween me and the hog and took a solid lick! The hog pinned him down and worked him over for about 20seconds on the ground . Anyone who questions why us hoghunters LOVE our dogs so much that is proof. Im sure i would be in a hospital bed right now if it wasnt for that ol catahoula! I wouldnt hesitate to risk my life for my dogs after this

it made me sick to my stomach. Ol Blacky took a whoopin, but i got to give it to the old man, he held in longer than i would've. That vest saved him for sure. The hog has his day a coming. He might have drawn first blood, but will draw final blood!!!!
