on jan. 3rd my buddy chris(linkylanky)crawford and i were supposed to go to new spot with some boys...well plans changed and we wound up going right down the rd from my house but being the pearl river was so high it was covering the rd so we had to go put our boats in and run up to our spot...we took sum guys in there the day before and ddnt get on any thing so we decided to bring out the hounds...well we got into some good tracks and my buddys 1/4 hound 3/4 cat gyp who is silent started baying well the other dogs got there and the hog broke....according to the garmin they went about a mile and it took us well over an hr to get to them so we get bout 20 yds out and send the cds...i wanted to get close as possible b/c i knew it was a good hog by the way the dogs were baying...so long story short we caught this massive bar whose teeth had grown back into his head...thank goodness cuz he wouldve cut the dogs to shreds...we get him home clean him and im headed back to my house when my dad calls and says he shot at a good buck i could tell by his voice it was a good one cuz my dad doesnt shoot just anything...so i swing home and get his bmc that he uses to trail deer with throw him in the box w/my dogs and head to the lease...get there jed finds the deer starts baying him we shine the lite an the the deer is still up so i run to the truck get my cd geronimo and send him to catch the deer...he nails him on the hind end and the buck starts trying to hook him...im in a bind by this point so i wait till the deer turns to hook jed and i tackle the deer well he starts to get up with me  on him and im no small boy thank goodness two of my buddys were rite behind me to jump in and lend a hand....turned out to be an awesome day for me and my dad...we were joking with my mom the nite before about she needs to make room on the wall cuz we were both bringing wallhangers home...lol...never thought in a million yrs it would be true
im 5'9" & chris is like 6'4" & the hogs nose mite be 3 in off the ground

sfboarbuster, thankfully my dads friend mounts all his deer for him for purty cheap...on the other hand the hog is a totally different story...probably gna hit me for a good lickin...lol

djhogdogger, where we caught him the former oversee'ers used to only trap hogs and cut all the boars and turn them back loose they did doing that for yrs even the days of free range hogs you had to mark...so no telling how old he was and the only thing for him to eat was deer corn and acorns no agriculture fields anywhere around except for the occasional garden
