I was jus wanting some fellow hunters opinion on a cross i been thinking about. I thought about crossing a blackmouth with a catahoula an then crossing a red tick with a bloodhound an then crossing the pups. That would give me a 1/4 blackmouth 1/4 catahoula 1/4 red tick an a 1/4 bloodhound. Its just a thought an would like to get some opinions on whether anyone thinks it could turn out good or if anyone thinks its a waste of time. thanks

I don't care for the blood hound part. I think it could take speed away from the dog.

To quote a statement from another board member, "Breeding dogs aint like mixing paint".

How can anyone give you an opinion with these crosses if you dont tell us what you are trying to achieve with them?

In other words, what do you want in a hog dog?  Huh? If you dont know what you are trying to achieve to begin with then yes, its a complete waist of time.

There are good traits in each one of the 4 breeds but i would be more concerned with the dogs I was breeding not the breed it self.....

To me it sounds like raising and working +/- 30 pups to (maybe) find what your looking for.
