i've been feeding sportmix because of convenience,  practicality, and overall best bang for the buck.  gotta drive further to get Victor, Victor comes in 40lbs. bags while Sportmix comes in 50lbs. bags.  buy Six bags and get a bag and a half free.

It seems like Victor last longer pound for pound, but once you weigh in the gas and time, so far Sportmix seems like a no brainer.  If he right bag of Victor was along my normal route, I'd I've gotten Victor last time.

I think a lot of it depends on your dogs. You just have to try them out and see which one works best for your dogs. For example I was feeding Diamond and everything was fine and my dog looked great with it but the price was getting out of hand. It got up to $31 at my feed store. So I went a couple miles down the road where they have victor for $24 a bag I heard good things about it so I decided to try it. Half way through the bag my dog started looking poor and didn't even eat all of what I gave her half the time. when that bag was out I just grabbed a twenty pound bag that cost $7 at dollar general just to hold her over til I got back to the feed store. In less than a week she started looking a lot better. And every time I put the cheap food in front of her you would think I just gave her a slice of prime rib the way she goes to town on it.

So to sum it all up IMO there's no sure fire feed that'll be the best for every dog. You just need to try them out and find which one works best for your situation

If money was not an issue I would probably get the Blue Buffalo Wilderness, or some other 100% grain free kibble, and supplement more with raw meat and bones.  If my dogs want more fiber they can eat white oak acorns or deer corn as they do it anyway.

I use to feed call of the wild, then switched to blue buffalo. I only have 3 dogs so the $ is not bad but if I had 10 like some folks on here I would have to get another job..

I've tried several different feeds victor, sportsmix, diamond, value pack, shawnee, caliber, even Ole Roy which is a product of purina. As some of the other guys said it depends on the dog I have to many so I have to go with bang for the buck value pack was doing great but I can't get it anymore sportsmix 26/18 is good feed I use it for my house pets. I feed victor puppy to my pups and if I have a dog get down or need to gain some weight its 30/20 so it will put it on them fast. I now feed caliber 24/20 to my hunting dogs it maintains their weight well and stool doesn't look bad not as good as I like to see but they like it and they perform well with it. Main things to look for is the protein and fat content hence the 30/20 for pups and so on and make sure it is a meat based feed not grain based start lookin at what's on the back of the bag not the name on the front.
