Made a great fishing trip out of San Luis Pass with Clay Poth and my brother Seth.  Clay has a nice Explorer boat and was perfect for how we were fishing all day.  We started off catching live mullet then used them to fish around the bridge.  Caught one slot red then moved offshore.  Conditions were nice so we made it about 20 miles to some rigs in nice blueish water.  Caught two kings on the first drift but had to cut our stay extremely short when a thunder storm cell popped up out of no where and forced us to run back in-shore.  Fished the bridge a couple more hours and Clay caught a nice 27" red and a little trout.

Hunted Sunday morning with Richard (Cull Buck) at one of Richard's spots.  His dogs were still healing up from that bad boar he caught last weekend, so we used my curs.  We turned out about 4am and rode about 300 yards when we could see on the GPS the dogs were getting on something.  Stopped and listened and could hear the hogs sounding. The hogs and dogs were leaving one pasture and we could hear them running through the water.  The dogs got one stopped about 650 yards.  Made our way there and finished the catch.  Headed back to the orignial pasture and made a loop.  We were headed back to the truck when my dogs took out again.  By the time Cull Buck got the 4-whlr and picked me up, I had 4 dogs showing bayed at .75 mile.  Made our way there and finished the catch.  Everything went well on this hunt.  My catchdog Buddy caught fine despite his first time out since losing his K9 a couple weeks ago.  And Cull Buck got to break-in his new pull behind 4-whlr trailer.

Hey Ty Angel, do you recognize the young brindle dog in the box?  I hauled Lou-Lou on this trip.  He’s still real young but he kept up fine.

Thanks for meeting up with me yesterday morning.  It was wierd only showing up with a catchdog.  Its always nice to have a text book hunt....no broken bays, no long chases, ect. Your dogs did real good.
