anyone cross Jack Russel w/ a Pit??

I know they have crossed Pats w/ pits, wondering if anyone here has seen or done the jack/pit?? i have been a pit man my whole life but may end up crossing out w/ the freakin way the world is today having good ole bulldogs.

I saw one last yr at a public hunt, it was an old man's only dog... ugly little sucker but he'd hunt!  Obsessive compulsive pit with boundless energy   If you can get one(like this one was) not to be straight catch, they can make good heavy cover dogs.

 I have a pit x grayhound  just over a year old . It has taken a bit of work to stock train him.    But is safe around  sheep , cattle and chocks now.  He is  very fast in the bush and is hunting  out all the time  looks like he will be a good hard dog  . He was in on the first pig he saw with other dogs , Has not court he's own pig yet !

I've got a jack russel/patterdale cross.  He's so freakin' evil I can't even get him around my other dogs.  If he's ever gonna get to hunt, he'll have to be fixed to hopefuly control some of his aggressiveness.  He'll pick a fight with any male dog he sees, and that'll get him killed with my crew.  The little twerp hates a pig though.

i know you texans wouldnt understand this but i think staghound X pitbull would be a top cross. i dont know about scenting ability but the staghound for height, speed and sight.the pitbull for agression, muscle and head size. it'd even out to a really well put together dog. got a good pictures of that greyhoundXpitbull kiwi bacon??

you are right, aussiedogger i hunted many years with pit x grey hounds. the dogs were fast and would catch hard. the best luck i had was with a 3/4 grayhound x 1/4 pit. had more since and would bay a bad hog.

i ran a straight gray hound a few times but, i had the best luck with a cross of some kind.

in my opinion this is what i would call a running catch dog. if a hog broke bay, it never got very far with the gray hounds cross on him. they would grab an ear and lay on the side of the hogs body. the 3/4 grayhounds never did get cut bad, how ever the 1/2 cross would get butchered. i always wanted the off spring to favor the gray hound with the pit head and body of a gray hound.
i would hunt them loose with  the strike dogs.

i had a gray hound x hound, she was good but took to the hound more than the gray hound. she was a little rough and got killed. she also barked to  much for me. the gray hound cross would yip on a hot track and would bay.

yeah i heard their a bit thin skinned..... im alway dreaming up all these different crosses  im still living with the parents at the moment but once i move out i'll put a few ideas into action

My female staghound will be ready to breed soon....Looking at a large pitt as one of the sire possibilities.....also a 1/2 AB 1/2 Dogo.....haven't made up my mind yet......

a friend of mine had a jakrus-pitt cross,wasnt a hog dog but it was a house cat-killn SOB.  big jack w/ small rasor/gotti pitt  body like a whippet on roids with a full size pit head that dog was full throttle from start to finish.  i think it would have been a sufficient hog dog but unfortunetly it decided a while back to chase a school bus and caught it. theres my two centavos.
