Have the vet do a blood test. Could be a number of things. My dog is down now with ehrlichia and i've also had some in the past with swine brucelosis... all had the same symptoms.

ended up being some virus?? they didn't know what. the peniciln i was giving for a few days was helping but then we took him in.  The penicilin would probably have taken care of it but we just didn't know.

Yes, if you catch it and treat it early enough. You'll know if it's brucellosis because their testicles will swell up. If it's just the symptoms mentioned above, it could be a number of things. My old Blue dog had those symptoms and had to be put down. He evidently picked up some type of poison in the field and his organs were shutting down. My Tweety dog had them and it ended up being erlichia from a tick.

I'd get him to the vet, especially if you already lost one.
