One of mine has "pink eye" like symptoms, puffy, red, itchy, goopy eyes(both eyes).  Any home remedies before I take her to the vet?

Thanks, Noah

one of my dogs gets something like that every year about now and again in the spring and it used to bug me big time, but beleive it or not its just seasonal allergies.  When he starts getting the inflamation i give him half a tab of benadryl or childrens allergy meds for a few nights at bed time.  the only other thing i would say is that if a dog gets nailed in the eyes by a skunk it will do that for a few days.

Tried the benadryl, no good, took her to the vet and $90 later and some eye drops for 3days every 4hrs... the conjuctivitis was gone.   They numbed her eyes and went in all the different eyelids(what does a dog have like 3 of them??) looking for debris or damage but found none.  Said most likely was a scrape that allowed the bacterial infection to set in.

The medicated eyes drops are called "Neo-Poly-Dex"(Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates in a Dexamethasone Opthalmic Suspension).
