Took a load of yrlings to market Mon.    Tues, the bottom fell out after the stock market dropped so bad.    This forced our buyers to shut doors for a min. of 3 wks... after a .45 cent/# drop in price.    Amazing how quick wallstreet can affect farmers.

On a positive note... got to see my Rip dog(who I'd passed on to a ranch manager for trashing on cattle) work Mon.   In a matter of a mnth, he's become their lead dog.   That son of a gun worked like a seasoned stock dog all day long... glad he found his place.  I've still got 2 pups off of him, so hopefully with a better start, they'll get that working ability lined out on hogs Wink

Yeah cattle prices have dropped here a lot as well, but mostly in the drought stricken area, obviously because no body wants to buy them in that area.  We got some bred cows that weighed around 1100 lbs between .45 to .50 cents.  Now is the time to buy them if you can feed them.
