would broken canines cause a big bulldog (65 lbs and over) to rebite even after the mouth has been given plenty of time to heal? im curious because i got a soon to be toothless bulldog i guess, lol.

ive heard from people that dogs that have lost teeth can still catch and catch hard but it still makes me nervous dealing with this...only been in this sport for a year or so and kinda nervous now about my best bulldog who does catch so hard that you nearly have to choke him to death to get him to release, but the tooth thing still has me worried.

i left him in the trailer at one of the spots we was hunting at because of this and he just wasnt acting like himself at an earlier hunt  (he has been cut up, lost a tooth and gained a weird looking knot under his eye all in the past month), i dont want any of my friends or me hurt because this dog wont hold on to a pig anymore....am i being over concerned?

Shawn,

I haven't noticed a change in my bulldog at all since healing up from the incident.  It did however get me to re-think my method of a single catchdog (but that's a whole other topic).

You mentioned that all these things happened over the last month.  Don't know the extent of his tooth injury, but I gave mine plenty more time than just a month to heal.  He did have pretty invasive surgery on his gum and jawbone however.  I didn't want to risk any chance of him biting, then realizing it hurt and turning loose.

yeah thats what i was worried about, the rebiting, im not worried about him catching, but the rebiting. his top left canine tooth was pulled out and shoved to the side of his gumline, they basically just cut the tooth out.
