Well had several in a row of big Fall boars, but seems that all good things must come to an end.
This is Sundays product, one of two, both about the same size

Caught these two on hunt with USHOG CONTROL, Thanks, Joe!
Cullen & Clayton, & Titus in pic.

Tuesday morning the dogs stayed on hogs for what seemed to be forever and we couldn't get close enought to turn out Catch dog, kept moving the dogs 100-250 yards ahead of us all the time what seemed like for miles. Finaly we got within 50 feet, turned two catch dogs from two different directions and they busted! Catch dogs in tow, got one back in about 20 minutes the other stayed out for and 45 minutes to an hour before finaly tracking closer with bay dogs still trying to get one lined out and stopped. End Result, no hog, tired dogs! Tired Feet on us OLD PEOPLE. (Me & Mr. Mason)

Krystal,

Let me guess... Sherry was not on the ground with you Tuesday Grin  You know who to take when you want to catch the big boys.

Your right Chris, Sherry was on the ground on Sunday and we walked over 7 miles so you know the Fat girl done alot more than that and was worn smooth out, made me feel Sorry for her and moved her up here to the Dog Condo for the cool front.

Tuesday I had my Rolee & Deuce on the ground, they done a good job at staying with them as long as they did, I just feel bad I could not catch what they worked so hard to hold for us.

Good hogs Sunday, and good looking white dog.  Relieves me to see I'm not the only one been burned lately Grin  Every time I loose one like that, it takes me days to get over it... I'll sit there and fume over it, wracking my brain to figure out how not to have it happen again... As soon as these young dogs I have are a little older, I plan on "cycling" different teams to keep intense pressure on those runners.

Krystal, what do you think yall could of done differently to catch that hog?

Noah, If I set here and gave you an extended response, it would problay all be B.S., I think about it alot too, truth is It Happens, what should I have done different???, maybe sneek in a little closer try and get a good view of hog(s) to see exactly what was happening, it was Thick, I did not see the hogs, did not want to risk leading in closer and making alot of noise when it was already this hard to get them held up in first place, so maybe I should have done that different, But it is hog hunting and you just never know, hard to predict because it is never the same way twice. I do think back and how it was moving and there was only one long break and then bay, when Rollee joined it it was a just constant moving bay, moving faster than we could move, constant chopping bark, So I feel as if it was more than one hog, I think if it was one hog than the dogs would have worked it over and kept it in place better, not let it walk. As far as the catch (or lack of catch) can't give you a good answer. I think everybody gets burned every now and then, just most don't fess-up on the internet, maybe I am just not too SMART.

Shawn, Thank You, that is my big girl "Smoochy", she is ABXDogo or as Longshot says "AmeriGo"
She is my favorite dog to lead because her disposition, Handling  is awesome, can you tell I am prejudice towards her? She is Sister to Longshots "Rhino" & "Comet" & Bryants "Zeus" & "Clorox" out Captain and Lucy.

Shawn, I lead my dogs in, there are occasions when they get released to run, or to shut down a bad fighter, to take the heat off of my bay dogs. and then there are times when a bay does break, and they are on the ground for longer than I like. I have had occasions where the bay break before she got there and she stayed with her own hog until she catches it. If they are in open feild and I know she has time to get to them before they hit the brush (line of sight) then she can certainly run one down. However for safety purposes, I do not like one to  be caught any longer than neccesary. I have seen hogs/dogs rip the ear off and on the run again and if they get away, they have one less ear to catch the next time, plus they are wiser to the dogs, So I feel most comfortable getting as close as possible, So we are close to get business taken care of, hopefully with little to no injuries to any of the dogs.
